Chrome Extension Privacywhat it reads, keeps and sends.

The LinkScale extension works inside your browser. This page lists exactly what it reads, what stays on your device, what reaches LinkScale, and what it never touches.

Last updated: October 3, 2026

Key points

  • The Extension works only on the sites listed in its permissions, and never reads your browsing history.
  • It never collects passwords, cookies, private messages or payment details, and contains no analytics or advertising code.
  • Nothing reaches LinkScale until you sign in, and AI requests are sent only when you click.
  • Your settings, media library and saved readings stay in your browser and are deleted when you uninstall it.
  • We do not sell this data or use it for advertising, in line with the Chrome Web Store Limited Use requirements.
01

Scope

This policy covers the LinkScale extension for Google Chrome and other Chromium browsers (the "Extension"), published by RM ECOM, SASU, France ("LinkScale", "we", "us").

It supplements our general Privacy Policy, which governs your LinkScale account and everything stored on LinkScale's servers. Where the two differ about the Extension, this page applies.

02

What the Extension does

The Extension has one purpose: to let a LinkScale user work with their LinkScale account from the pages where they publish content. Concretely, it lets you:

  • create a LinkScale tracking link for the page or link you are on, and search your existing links and their statistics;
  • track a social media account in your LinkScale project from its profile page;
  • collect, organise and download the photos and videos a supported site already shows you (Instagram, Facebook, X, and your own creator workspace on MYM, OnlyFans and Fanvue);
  • read the public comments of a post and, only when you ask, request an AI analysis of a post or of its comments;
  • use small local tools: UTM builder, link cleaner, QR code generator and file metadata editor.
03

What we never collect

The Extension does not collect, and LinkScale does not receive from it:

  • your browsing history, or the address of pages outside the sites listed in its permissions (the Extension does not request the tabs permission);
  • passwords, cookies, session tokens or request headers of any website, including Instagram, Facebook, X, MYM, OnlyFans and Fanvue;
  • private messages, the identity of your conversation partners, or payment information shown on creator platforms;
  • keystrokes, form contents, or anything you type outside a LinkScale field;
  • financial, health or location data.

The Extension contains no analytics, advertising or tracking code of any kind.

04

How the Extension reads the pages you visit

On the supported sites only, the Extension reads the page in your browser so that it can offer its features there. All of this happens on your device:

  • Outbound links and profiles: to suggest a destination for a new link and to recognise the account you are viewing.
  • Media: the addresses, dimensions and public figures (likes, comments, views) of the photos and videos the page displays, so you can select and save them.
  • Comments: the public comments of a post, read through your own session and only when you open the comments tool.
  • MYM, OnlyFans and Fanvue: the Extension observes the responses your own creator workspace already loads and keeps only media details and the public addresses of your tracking campaigns. Message text, participant and payment details are removed before anything leaves the page. Your session credentials stay inside the page and are never passed to the Extension, stored, or sent to LinkScale.

None of this content is sent to LinkScale unless you use a feature that needs it, as described in the next section.

05

Data about other people

Some features show you content published by other people: public comments and the usernames attached to them, or the public figures of someone else's post. The Extension reads only what the site already displays to you, keeps it on your device, and sends it to LinkScale only when you request an AI analysis.

You remain responsible for using that content lawfully, in particular any list of usernames you export. Do not use the Extension to build profiles of individuals or to contact people who have not agreed to it.

06

What is sent to LinkScale, and when

The Extension talks to one server, dashboard.linkscale.to, and only after you sign in. It sends:

  • Sign-in: a standard OAuth 2.1 authorisation with PKCE. You sign in on LinkScale's own consent page and choose which projects the Extension may access. The Extension never sees your password.
  • Links: the destination address and settings of a link when you create it, and requests to list your projects, folders, links and statistics.
  • Social tracking: the username and network of an account when you choose to track it.
  • AI features, on your click only: up to 12 still frames taken from the post in your browser, its caption and public figures, a selection of its public comments, the address of the video so it can be transcribed, and the short creator description you wrote in the Extension's settings. These requests use your project's AI credits, and the button says so before anything is sent.

This data is processed under our general Privacy Policy to provide the feature you asked for. AI requests are processed by LinkScale and by AI service providers acting on our behalf under contract. We do not use this content to train AI models.

07

What stays in your browser

The following is stored locally with Chrome's storage APIs and is never uploaded:

  • your settings (panel position, chosen tools, download preferences, creator description);
  • your sign-in tokens, held by the Extension's background worker only;
  • the media library: thumbnails and details of the media you collected, so you can find and save them again;
  • your download queue;
  • your last 20 comment readings, and your last 150 AI answers so reopening a post never charges you twice.

Older readings and answers are dropped automatically as new ones arrive. Everything in this list is deleted when you uninstall the Extension.

Files you save are downloaded directly from the platform's media servers into a LinkScale folder in your Downloads. Files you open in the metadata editor are processed on your device and are not uploaded anywhere.

08

Why each permission is requested

  • storage, unlimitedStorage: keep your settings, sign-in and media library on your device.
  • activeTab, scripting: read the page you are on, only when you open the Extension there, to propose it as a link destination.
  • Host access to the listed sites: show the LinkScale button and media tools on social networks and creator platforms, and read the current page address on those sites only.
  • contextMenus: add "Create a LinkScale link" to the right-click menu.
  • sidePanel: open LinkScale docked on the right of the window.
  • downloads: save the media and files you choose to your computer.
  • notifications: confirm that a link was created.
  • offscreen: assemble ZIP files and process media in the background, on your device.
09

No remote code

All of the Extension's code is included in the package reviewed and published by the Chrome Web Store. It does not download or execute code from LinkScale or from anyone else. Its only network traffic is to LinkScale's API, as described above, and to the platforms' own media servers when you save a file.

10

Sharing and Limited Use

We do not sell user data, we do not share it with third parties for advertising, and we do not transfer it for any purpose unrelated to the Extension's single purpose. We do not use it to determine creditworthiness or for lending. No person at LinkScale reads it, except with your explicit consent for a support request, when needed for security or to comply with the law.

The use of information received through the Extension adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

11

Security

All traffic between the Extension and LinkScale is encrypted with HTTPS. Refresh tokens rotate on every use, and each request is checked against the projects and permissions you granted. No AI or third-party API key ships inside the Extension.

12

Your control and deletion

  • Sign out in the Extension to delete its tokens from your browser.
  • Revoke the Extension's access at any time from your LinkScale account.
  • Uninstall the Extension to delete everything it stored locally, including the media library.
  • Data stored on LinkScale (your links, statistics and AI answers billed to your project) follows our Privacy Policy, where your rights of access, correction and deletion are described.
13

Age requirement

The Extension is meant for LinkScale account holders and is not directed to anyone under 18.

14

Changes to this policy

If the Extension starts handling a new kind of data, we will update this page before the version that does so is published, and change the date above.
